The Force Lottery Review concluded with overwhelming support for holding more frequent draws to give more winners prizes. 92% voted in favour of change. We plan to change early in 2011 to fortnightly draws which will include increasing the amount and value of bonus prizes and including non cash prizes as an addition.

Those members attending the EGM today voted 100% in favour of the proposed new club rules which will now be implemented next April 2011.

At the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 16/9, representatives from branch clubs, OCU's and sport sections voted to support proposals for change. Work will now begin to draft new rules and club constitution.

Membership cards are going out in batches one branch club at a time. Northern have just been sent out. Please be patient as this is taking some time to complete. Names are being checked against the GDL to ensure all members are included as it has become apparent that many members are not included and therefore are not being updated with all the new deals.

A club Extraordinary Meeting has been called for Thursday September 16th at 1630 hrs. It will be in the Longmore Room at Netley and all members are welcome. Proposals for changes to the club constitution and rules will be voted on.
The next planning early for retirement seminars will be held on Sept 6th at Netley at 1400 and 1800. Open to all staff and partners. More details here.

Force Club AGM was held on 20th May. Proposals for change were presented to the committee and attendees for consideration. FREE SEMINARS - Mcauley Finance are doing 2 seminars on 'Preparing Early for Retirement'. These will be held in the afternoon and evening of June 2nd at Netley in the lecture theatre to allow staff a choice of times. Club members can arrange free personal independant advice consultation afterwards. More details to follow. Names to club administrator stating which seminar you would like to attend.

Proposed Ladies Rambling Section - coming soon, which is being organised by Pat Goodall from Development Training 'CS'. Aimed at ladies who want to get out in the fresh air to do some lovely Hampshire country walks (nothing past 7 miles) ending perhaps in some well earned refreshments at a nice pub. Retired police officers will soon be able to pay subscriptions monthly by deductions from source from pensions. This will make it a lot easier to keep membership up to date.

The club will be working with Mcauley Financial Newforge to provide free independent financial advice to members. This would normally cost anything up to £150 to obtain this service from other providers. Mcauley's have been working closely with the Police Service of Northern Ireland for many years and have built a good relationship with many serving officers and staff. A new role of club administrator has been created to manage all the functions of maintaining the club. This will include;
finance and administration
developing and improving members benefits and discount schemes
marketing the club to increase membership and
reviewing the structure and operation of the club
The force is supporting the club to finance this position for the first year.
