Triathlon

Thank you for showing interest in the club the following information sets out how the club works and what is required of you as a member.

The club has been running for about 15 years.

I took over as Chairperson  4 years ago. I have now retired from the Force but have retained the role.

We have members competing at all abilities and distances in the club from local sprint races to international Ironman events.  There is certainly no minimum standard.  Just doing it to whatever your ability is where we start.

The club is supported and financed  by the Force Sports and Social fund. You need to be a paying member of Sports and Social club to benefit from the financial support with race entries from the club.

With the constraints of everyone’s duties its very difficult to get a set training date so the club tends to train as individuals or in groups organised locally with members who live close to each other.

We try and get enough energy to send a good  Hantspol representation to the Police sport UK (PSUK)  triathlon events. These range from Duathlon, Sprint, Standard and Middle distance triathlon. There is no minimum ability or finish time expectation.  We just want you to feel included to take part.

There is a  What’s app group  where people local to each other can arrange to meet up for training sessions or just generally share banter and gossip.

There is also the Hantspol Tri Facebook page where members can join to keep up to date with training and races or just share "stuff".

Shona Rust is your person to get set up on these.

To join the club there are just two simple stipulations:
1) You have to be a paying member into HPLS.
2) When competing you have to enter under the Hantspol Tri to qualify for the advantages of getting a proportion of your entry fees paid back!

Current Club Structure
Club Captain / Chairman – Kirsty Shannon - retired -  formerly  Inspector
Club Treasurer – Rob Spall  (3679)
Club Secretary – Shona Rust (3157)

Club Meetings
As a club it is important to try and meet up to have a talk through events, training and for the more experienced members to answer questions from newcomers. These are intended to  be held throughout the year at varying locations and information regarding these meetings will be sent via e-mail.

The club is totally inclusive and only works by everyone sharing ideas.  So just join in and see. What have you got to loose?

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact Shona, Rob or myself. - The4shannons@virginmedia.com.

We hope you enjoy being a member of the club and look forward to seeing you at one of the many events we’ll be participating in this year.
