New upgraded home in 2026. Lilac Lodge will take over from Carnaby which was the first home we purchased in 2016. 

​

HPLS have two holiday homes at Shorefield Swanage Coastal Park in Dorset. These are available to hire out to HPLS members for their use with their immediate family for discounted rates that are typically discounted between 55-60% off the cost of a similar rental property in that the same park at any time of the year, saving our members at least £250 and anything up to £750.  

 

We have 2 homes which are situated in a nice quiet non-commercial holiday park (Shorefield website HERE), which has views over Swanage and the Purbeck Hills. They are fully kitted out with equipment and comes with gas central heating and hot water. There is a TV and WiFi.*  One of the homes is pet friendly. The accommodation is adequately sized for any couple or small family to enjoy as a base in a great coastal location.

 

Swanage Town and seafront is only a short walk 15 min away and with lots of things to do in the area from site seeing, attractions, cycling and walking, this location is ideally suited for both families and adults, wanting to get away for a nice relaxing break or holiday any time of the year. Coastal walks are easily accessed from the park.  Bar, pool and leisure activities can be used at the neighbouring holiday park - 5 min walk. (small charge may apply for some activities e.g. gym and swimming). 

 

Located less than a hour from the Hampshire county border, it is ideally placed for a easily accessible break or holiday.  

 

We hire these out for members to use from mid-March to the end of December each year.

PLEASE NOTE REVISED BOOKING CRITERIA

We now use an instant booking calendar where members can select their own weeks (subject to conditions*) and on a first come first served basis.  This will be used again for 2026 from the below dates.

We have extended out the booking windows for those who have never been before and those who have.  This is to provide a fairer process and encouragement to offer members the chance to go who have not done so to date.  While we don't mind members booking consecutive years, we ask those that do, to allow others to have a fair chance. Not all staff know what their annual leave dates are in October and may not be in a position to book.  It was never our intention to provide an annual holiday for the same members each year and regular bookers should not expect that they can do this every year.  Availability for off peak weeks is usually good, therefore the majority of those who want to book a week should be able to do. 

​

Wednesday 15.10.25 from 12.00 midday, booking is available only to members who have NOT previously booked a holiday at Swanage HPLS Holiday homes.

Monday 1.12.25 from 12.00 midday, booking is available for any other HPLS member.*

​

*Members who have booked either home during a school holiday week in the previous 3 years (2023/24/25) are asked not to book a school holiday week in 2026.  Max 1 week per member per year. 

 

All bookings are audited for approval. Bookings made outside of the above criteria will be cancelled.

​

While some members may not be able to initially secure the weeks of their choice, these homes are a long term commitment to provide members a nice break at some point for low cost. 

​

2026 Rental Tariff 

HPLS rental is around 55-60%  off the normal site rental (See price comparison below)

Subsidised rates are from:

Beachcomber - £220 (low season) to £525 (Peak high season). 

Lilac Lodge - £350 (Low season) to £750 (Peak high season).

 

In order to be able to let these at such a big reduction we need to ask our members to assist us as follows;  

 

Firstly - that members bring their own bed sheets, pillow cases and towels and toiletries.

The saving on laundry costs are significant, even if we could employ site staff to do this, which we cannot as it is no longer offered to us.

 

Secondly - that members are required to clean the property on departure and leave it ready for the next guest. 

A small price to pay we believe for a great deal. This massively reduces our running costs by around £100 per unit, avoiding paying private contractors to come in to carry this out, whose standards are often not as good as our own members cleaning.  We have operated this system now for 5 years after the site removed the cleaning service for privately owned homes. 

​

Thirdly - that the deposit fee for the weeks hire and cleaning / security deposit are paid at the time of the booking with the balance being paid 8 weeks before arrival.  The cleaning security deposit of £80 then remains a refundable charge after your return. 

This helps to minimise the administration costs of HPLS staff operating these homes and ensures that those requesting to stay are fully committed to doing so. Unfortunately our experience has been that many bookings have been cancelled at late notice when final balances were due, which means further work in re-advertising and administration and loss of income if the week couldn't be filled. We are a small team with limited resource and high demand. Our message is simply this, please be as sure as you can be that you are able to use the week before booking it!

Our heavily subsidised rates equate to between only £31 and £107 per night depending on the home and week booked. HPLS run these on a non-profit basis for our members, whereby the hire fees only cover the costs associated with the purchase and running costs over the licence period of the properties.  We would invite you to check our rates against those shown on the Shorefield Swanage Coastal Park website. 

 

Conditions of booking are found HERE and on the booking calendar web pages which relates to payment, refunds, conduct on site, cleaning and pets. These need to be understood and accepted at the time you submit a booking request.  Please read before accepting.

 

Available dates and booking links are below - All dates are available for the initial release in October after which any unclaimed dates will be shown. The calendar is now in real time. If shown available, it can be booked.

Bookings are for one week periods only.  You can stay for less time of course but the cost will remain the same.​

​

The homes will be closed during January, February and the first 2 weeks in March each year. Other holiday homes are available to rent from Shorefield direct, should you not be able to secure your chosen week with HPLS.

The holiday homes are:

1. 'Lilac Lodge' 40ft x 20ft' 3 bedroom (One double bedroom, plus twin single beds in rooms 2&3) This non-pet home is very spacious and large enough for 2 adults and 4 children. Outside is spacious decking with furniture and superb views across into Swanage bay and surrounding hills. Dishwasher and washing machine are included, plus 2 bathrooms.

This home will be priced marginally higher than Beachcomber due to the higher site fees for lodges over static homes.

 

2. 'Beachcomber' 35ft x 12ft' 2 bedroom (One double bedroom, plus twin single beds in room 2) This pet-friendly  home is well designed with one shower / WC, ensuite WC and spacious lounge has ample space for 2 adults and 2 children plus the lounge seating will convert to an additional bunk. Our home has side and front decking with outside seating with superb views into Swanage Bay and surrounding hills.

 

High chairs and travel cots are available from the site office.

Parking is available immediately adjacent to the holiday homes on its own drive for one car only.

 

Members hiring this holiday home will be doing so by way of a contract with HPLS in line with conditions which are laid out in full when booking.  Only members and their family or guests are permitted to reside and the HPLS member must be present, in other words this cannot be hired out for non-members to use on a sub-let basis, even if this is for relatives. Other additional guests are not permitted to stay overnight.

 

Smoking or vaping is not permitted in either home. Dog friendly is only Beachcomber.

Feedback from those that have already stayed in our homes has been excellent, many of which said that would definitely return.
