Are you considering organising an event? If so there may be some available assistance by way of help and advice plus a subsidy to offset the costs. Events that are purely social in nature, such as staff gatherings, parties and meals etc are normally subsidised by the Southampton Police Trust Fund. HPLS will consider providing support for other events (see below*) or which involve team building, sport or other activities, or where the criteria is not met for a Trust Fund subsidy. This doesn't include where you have been late in applying to the Trust Fund for a subsidy.
To discuss which would be the best route to take please contact us by email on hpls@hampshire.pnn.police.uk .
Duplicate claims to HPLS and Trust Fund are not permitted.
The SPCTF was set up may years ago following the sale of the old Southampton Sports and Social Club building in order to assist police staff with supporting in a number of ways and their grants can benefit any beneficiary including non HPLS members.
To apply for funding the form is available on the force intranet. Just search 'Trust Fund' The committee meets throughout the year, however always apply in good time before the meeting dates to avoid missing out. Retrospective claims are not considered. Application forms are found HERE

*Other Types of Events

HPLS will also consider helping towards the costs of events organised by a 'member of HPLS' and 'where the majority of attendees are members of HPLS' in which case we can also help with the promotion of such open invite events. Any HPLS subsidy should only benefit subscribing members and their partners or family, so this means that event access needs to have some control and any non-members attending should contribute an enhanced rate for attending or pay the standard rate. HPLS funding is generally not aimed at purely shift or department social functions (See above), although we will consider any event being planned.
